Carmel Competes in Ben Davis Invitational

Carmel competed in today's Ben Davis Invitational and placed second to Zionsville, 72 to 79.  Additional teams included West Lafayette (92), Avon (95), Lawrence North (102), Ben Davis (175), Chesterton (189), Center Grove (223), Pike (267), Southport (281), Columbus East (313), Plainfield (337), Greencastle (349), Heritage Christian (411), Seegar (432), Western Boone (437) and Herron (550).  Individual winner was Southport's Clayton Bowie in 15:34.  Running for Carmel were Zachary Leinheiser (9th in 16:04), Thomas Revard (10th in 16:09), Alexander Cashbaugh (13th in 16:14), Daniel Sechuga (23rd in 16:34), Zachary Horowitz (24th in 16:35), Michael Lukovic (29th in 16:45) and Andrew Kalthoff (34th in 16:48).
 
Carmel won the Reserve race with 31 points.  Running for Carmel were Jordan Ehrlich (3rd in 17:01), Drew Watson (4th in 17:02), Jonah Nichol (6th in 17:06), Evan Bouillet (7th in 17:06), Ben Hatfield (11th in 17:12), Conor Lyons (12th in 17:13) and Elijah St. Angelo (13th in 17:14).
 
The Greyhounds will next compete in the Trinity Invitational in Louisville on Saturday September 21st.  The outstanding field will include 3 teams ranked in the Top Ten in the XCNation.com National Poll including the #8 ranked Carmel Greyhounds along with two strong St. Xavier teams (Ohio and Kentucky) along with the host school.  With the Greyhounds back to full strength we will be looking for a strong effort from our team.
