Carmel Competes in 41st Annual Carmel Classic Distance Medley

Carmel competed in today's 41st Annual Carmel Classic Distance Medley with it's unique Varsity format of concurrent 3K/4K/5K races allowing each team 4 runners per race and scoring 2 in each race.  Carmel would win with 33 points in a very competitive field which included Lawrence North (40), Zionsville (41), West Lafayette (42), North Central (58), Franklin Central (86), Chesterton (104), Center Grove (109), Mt. Vernon (112) and Southport (163).  Winning the 3K race was Lawrence North's Robel Teklezghi in 9:15.0.  Running for Carmel were Collin McMahon (3rd in 9:22.0), Kyle Hook (7th in 9:38.0), Thomas Revard (12th in 9:58.0) and Zach Horowitz (13th in 10:06.0).  Winning the 4K race was Joseph Murphy also of Lawrence North in 12:27.0.  Running for Carmel were Joshua Horowitz (3rd in 12:46.0), Zachary Leinheiser (7th in 13:05.0), Jace Wisdorf (11th in 13:31) and Andrew Kalthoff (17th in 14:04.0).  Winning the 5K race was North Central's James Huffman in 16:00.0.  Running for Carmel were Alexander Cashbaugh (6th in 16:38.0), Daniel Sechuga (7th in 16:41.0), Elijah St. Angelo (19th in 17:46) and Matthew Croaning (26th in 18:26.0).
 
Carmel would win the Junior Varsity race with 18 points followed by Lawrence North (80), Franklin Central (85), Zionsville (101), Center Grove (147), North Central (172), Mt. Vernon (174), Chesterton (223) and Southport (236).  Winning the 4K race was Carmel's Ben Hatfield in 13:50.  Additional Carmel runners included Jordan Ehrlich (2nd in 14:09), Ben Booher (4th in 14:17.0), Kyle Weaver (5th in 14:25.0), James Holland (6th in 14:26.0), Collin Skiles (8th in 14:31.0), Jake Hostetler (11th in 14:38.0), Bryan Miller (13th in 14:43.0), Andrew Rigsbee (16th in 14:52.0), Andrew Trachtman (18th in 14:59.0), Trevor Witta (19th in 15:03.0), Patrick Tan (20th in 15:04), James Pescio (21st in 15:06.0), and Reid Otto (22nd in 15:07.0).
 
Carmel won the Boys' Freshman Race with 15 points followed by Zionsville (54), Lawrence North (90), Franklin Central (95), North Central (132), West Lafayette (163), Chesterton (190), and Southport (244).  Winning the 4K race was Carmel's Conor Lyons in 14:03.1.  Other Carmel runners included Jonah Nichol (2nd in 14:08.0), Drew Watson (3rd in 14:09.0), Kenji Tomozawa (4th in 14:10.0), Evan Bouillet (5th in 14:20.0), Austin Weaver (12th in 14:54.0), Jacob Jenkins (14th in 14:56.0), Eric Boleman (16th in 15:00.0) and Evan Zatkulak (24th in 15:24.0).
 
The Greyhounds held out our current top 4 runners (Robert Browning, Ben Anderson, Michael George and Ben Veatch) in preparation for later season meets.
