Martin Set For Road to Eugene


2005 Westside High School graduate Dennis Martin, now attending the University of Florida, is slated to compete in the men's 110-meter hurdles at the Road to Eugene meet at Hayward Field Tuesday.

Martin, a member of the U.S. Junior Team, will compete against professional athletes in the event.

Spring Valley alumna Monique Hennagan (1994), running for Nike, is entered in the women's 200-meter event.

Martin claimed second in the 110 hurdles at the 2006 U.S.A. Junior Championships, qualifying him for World Junior Championships.

The meet will be aired on ESPN2 on Aug. 12 from 4:30-6 p.m.

The World Junior Championships is slated for Aug. 15-20 in Beijing, China.
