It was a fine day for a run if you were a Concordia Cadet. But it was an even finer day if your name was Ashley Erba.

 

Erba, the Warsaw junior who ran away from the field a week ago to win the New Haven cross country semistate, did the same thing again Saturday to win the 2011 state title at Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at Indiana State in Terre Haute.

 

Her time of 18:05.6 beat runner-up Sarah Bennett of girls team champion Carmel by nearly 14 seconds.
