Regional #11- Rushville
Boys Teams: Rushville, Cambridge, Hagerstown, Centerville, New Castle, New Palestine, Franklin Central, Warren Central, Greenfield-Central, Roncalli
Boys Individuals: Nick Perkins is by far the best talent in the field and should win with no issues at all. Drew Austin should be the favorite for 2nd as well after coming off of a good race last weekend.
Top 5 Prediction:
Nick Perkins (Roncalli)
Drew Austin (New Palestine)
Conner Kinnaman (Greenfield-Central)
Elijah Halcomb (Hagerstown)
Andrew Miller (Rushville)
Team Race: New Palestine seems to be the favorite in a regional that has no real top team. Franklin Central could step in and take that top spot, and Warren could be in the mix as well. Perkins should provide the low-stick needed to help Roncalli advance to Semi-State.
Boys Team Prediction:
New Palestine
Franklin Central
Warren Central
Greenfield-Central
Roncalli
Girls Teams: Franklin Central, New Palestine, Roncalli, Mt. Vernon, Warren Central, Rushville, Franklin County, Centerville, Connersville, Hagerstown
Girls Individuals: Lawson and Reedus both had solid races last weekend going 1-2 in the sectional. Expect a similar result for both in the regional round as well. Don't count out Brenna Shaw though as she wasn't too far behind the two last week.
Top 5 Prediction:
Brianna Lawson (Franklin Central)
Jada Reedus (Franklin Central)
Brenna Shaw (New Palestine)
Sydney Welch (Franklin Central)
Cami Farmer (Franklin Central)
Team Race: Franklin Central put on a show last week, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a better score this weekend. It would be interesting to see if the Flashes could dip under 20 points as a team for the win.
Girls Team Prediction:
Franklin Central
New Palestine
Roncalli
Mt. Vernon
Warren Central
Regional #12- Shelbyville
Boys Teams: Franklin Community, Center Grove, Whiteland Community, Mooresville, Shelbyville, Batesville, Greensburg, East Central, Jac-Cen-Del, Oldenburg Academy
Boys Individuals: Sophomore Will Jefferson didn't look like a sophomore as be bested some of the upperclassman in his area. This weekend he will be tested by another underclassman Ean Loichinger who hasn't raced decent competition in a couple of weeks. Should be an interesting race as many will be looking to knock off Jefferson after his win last week.
Top 5 Prediction:
Will Jefferson (Whiteland)
Ean Loichinger(Batesville)
Andrew Bixler (Franklin Community)
Wyatt McCullough (Franklin Community)
Jacob James (Waldron)
Team Race: Franklin Community showed out last week, winning their sectional by 21 points over Center Grove. Batesville looked good as well, but it will be hard for them to match up with Franklin this weekend.
Top 5 Teams Prediction:
Franklin Community
Batesville
Center Grove
Whiteland
Mooresville
Girls Teams: Center Grove, Whiteland, Franklin Community, Monrovia, Shelbyville, Batesville, Greensburg, East Central, South Ripley, South Dearborn
Girls Individuals: Lillian Lacy and Brenner Hanna both came off of big wins at Sectionals, and right now I think Brenner will take the win this Saturday. I could see either taking the win, but I'd give the edge to Brenner.
Top 5 Individuals:
Brenner Hanna (Greensburg)
Lillian Lacy (Franklin Community)
Megan Cole (South Ripley)
Sadie Schemmel (Center Grove)
Lily Pinckley (Batesville)
Team Race: Center Grove is the team to beat in the area after winning in a big way last weekend. I'd say this is their race to lose and they should feel pretty confident going into Semi-State.
Top 5 Teams:
Center Grove
Whiteland
Franklin Community
Batesville
Greensburg
