MIC Champs Meet Preview and Information

2017 Boys JV Race

Boys Preview

The Carmel boys team will look to extend their 11 year streak and 16 total MIC Titles Saturday morning. And it shouldn't be a terribly difficult thing to pull off. Based on season average times thus far, they hold a crazy good 17 second 1-5 spread and average a time of 16:43 among them. Their only shot a true team competition will come from the host school, North Central. Their 1-4 are all really close but it's their 5th runner who falls off a little and is closer to their 6 and 7 runners.

Over the past four years we've seen JT Hodges at three different MIC schools, he'll end his high school career at Pike as a Red Devil. Saturday may also be his chance to redeem himself and win his 2nd MIC cross title since 2016 when he won with a time of 15:44. Michael Moon has also been having a good senior season, running a PR just last weekend with a 16:20 at FlashRock. You also can't count Calvin Bates out of pulling off the win as well, as he was 5th at FlashRock last weekend. Alex Frey of North Central could also be in the mix. This individual battle looks like it will be super close and could come down to the final kick up to the finish.

No matter what happens, we'll get to experience some stellar racing on a different course. Some of the turns are a little tight, so it could also be about who can get in front for the turns and not get trapped.
