Colton Crum Goes Higher Than Ever Before

Hot Dog! Hot Dog! Colton Crum is on fire this outdoor season.

At a tri meet at Frankfort High School on Tuesday night, the senior raised the bar higher and found his way over it, clearing 17' 5" for a new PR. Crum's clearance gives him a US #5 spot and a big time IN #1 (which he already held) currently, as well as IN #2 all time for outdoors. He is also tied for IN #2 all time for indoors with a height of 16' 6".

Crum, is a senior at Frankfort High School in Northern Indiana. He has committed to continue his vaulting career at the University of Notre Dame in the fall.

Last June at the state meet, he came in 2nd to stud Ryan Lipe, clearing just 17 feet. He is the favorite going into the post season here in a couple weeks. The highest anyone else in the state has gotten this year is 15 feet and that was set by Nathan Stone of Lawrence North at the MIC Conference Meet last week. We should see Crum and Stone battle it out strong at the state meet.

Last week he cleared 17' 4" as well at another home meet.
