Sixth-Grader Camille Napier Has An Uncurable Liver Disease, But That Doesn't Slow Her Down

As an athlete, Camille Napier is rare enough--as a sixth-grader, she's already run a 10:29 3K, the AAU indoor national record for 12 and under girls. But she runs with a particular sense of urgency--because she has biliary atresia, a rare congenital liver defect, she could need a liver transplant any day. That would presumably end her career, so she doesn't mess around. As she told Texan Live in the video below, the knowledge "helps me push--I might need a liver transplant, so any race might be my last race. It helps me push myself, because you just never know."
