Pre-Region 2 Meet (UT)

The nationally ranked Davis High School programs showed why they are the best in Utah on Wednesday night, as they nearly made a clean sweep of the Pre-Region 2 Meet. Both the girls and boys programs are ranked No. 7 in the Flo50 National Rankings.

The Davis boys scored 22 points to win the Pre-Region 2 meet, as Camren Todd (9:48) and Logan MacKay (9:55) both ran under 10 minutes and finished in second and third position. Dallin Leatham of Viewmont won the title in 9:43, with teammate (and relative?) Josh Leatham finishing fifth in 10:07.

All five Davis scorers ran under 10:10 for two miles.

On the girls side, senior transfer Courtney Wayment continues to lead the squad's early races. She clocked a final time of 11:27 to win by three seconds over Isabella James of West High School. All-American Aubrey Argyle of Davis, a sub-17 minute 5k runner on the track, was third in 11:54 and the rest of top five filled out the fourth, fifth and sixth overall positions as James was the only runner to prevent a full sweep.

They scored 19 points for the overall win as all five Davis scorers ran under 12:29 for two miles.
