Throwback Thursday - ON THE RISE: Anna Rohrer

With a lot of new people coming to the site lately, we wanted to bring back a piece that we did this spring. In a two part 42 minute documentary, we follow Mishawaka Graduate, Anna Rohrer, as she overcomes injuries to succeed on the highest level.

Episode One: Watch Episode 1 of ON THE RISE: Anna Rohrer following the 2-time Foot Locker National cross country champion's fast early success in the sport before her running career was derailed and nearly ended completely by a serious injury. In the fall of her junior year and sidelined from repeating as a national champ, doctors gave Rohrer a 60% chance of fully recovering from a surgery procedure on her two fractured feet.

However, Rohrer overcame being temporarily wheelchair-bound to find her way back on the track again running faster than ever by the end of her junior year. Episode Two: Known as a 4-time national champion, Episode 2 of ON THE RISE: Anna Rohrer goes much deeper beyond than what has made her become such a gifted distance runner destined for greatness. Rohrer, her parents and coach all find the purpose and learn the lessons from Anna's long journey to overcome all of her injuries and setbacks.

Now as a high school senior, Rohrer is enjoying her healthiest and most successful year of running to date with national titles in the fall, winter, and hopefully more race glory to come over the final months of outdoor track. Her sights are set on disproving the doubters and leaving her injuries behind in high school to go onto a highly successfully career in college at Notre Dame. Foot Locker curse? Not for Anna.
